These appeals were taken under review and addressed through an on-site visit conducted by the regional representative of the Ombudsman in the Navoi region. During the visit, relevant information related to the appeals was gathered, and individual meetings were held with the inmates.

Subsequently, the inmates underwent medical examinations, which revealed no health complaints. Medical professionals concluded that no further medical assistance was required.

Additionally, during the monitoring visit, group discussions were held with other inmates. The conditions of inmates’ sleeping arrangements, dining facilities, work environments, and access to medical services were inspected, along with the functionality of the heating system. Inmates’ opinions regarding their living conditions and interactions with staff were also heard.

The "Ombudsman’s Boxes" installed in the correctional facilities were inspected, and any appeals submitted through them were collected.

It was reported that recommendations from the Ombudsman to address the identified shortcomings are being prepared.
