Over the past nine years, Uzbekistan has carried out systemic work to fulfill its international obligations in the field of strengthening the legislative and institutional framework for the protection of human rights, implementing international human rights standards into national legislation, and expanding cooperation with international organizations on human rights issues — including the categorical prohibition of torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment.
At the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s remarks attracted great interest from the international community. Above all, the head of state emphasized the necessity of transforming the UN Security Council and enlarging its membership.
In our country, the principle of “For Human Dignity” is not merely a slogan — it has become a truth deeply embedded in the life of the people. At every stage of human life, the state stands by its citizens. Over the years of independence, human dignity, rights, and freedoms have been placed at the center of state policy. Especially since 2017, this process has entered a new stage with the adoption of the Strategy of Actions, the National Human Rights Strategy, the Development Strategy, and the “Uzbekistan–2030” program.
Among the millions of people worldwide in need of peace and security, the plight of the Palestinian people is especially tragic. As a result of many years of conflict, armed clashes, and crises, thousands of families have lost their homes and peaceful lives.
Today, the idea of ensuring human dignity, rights, freedoms, and legitimate interests has become the most important driving force of democratic reforms. In this context, the rights and freedoms of women occupy a vital place in any society. This issue requires attention not only in a single country, but on a global scale.
