On 11 August 2025, at the initiative of the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman), and in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Office in Uzbekistan, and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, a two-day seminar on “Mechanisms to Combat Violence Against Women and Children in Social Networks” commenced.

On 8 August 2025, the Telegram channel “antikorruz” published material under the headline “Another injustice in Fergana: guilty officials intimidated a citizen.” It stated that in the city of Fergana, officers of the patrol-post service committed unlawful actions against citizen A. Yuldashev, who subsequently appealed to the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) to restore his violated rights.

On 7–8 August 2025, the Deputy Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman), staff of the Secretariat, and members of the Public Group on the Detection and Prevention of Torture under the Ombudsman, within the framework of the National Preventive Mechanism, carried out monitoring visits to a number of closed institutions in Jizzakh region where persons with restricted freedom of movement are held. Representatives of the media also took part in these processes.

The regional representative of the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in Bukhara region carried out a series of monitoring visits to places holding persons with restricted freedom of movement. In particular, conditions were studied at Penal Colonies No. 20, No. 17, and No. 1; Pre-trial Detention Center No. 4; the Special Reception Center for persons subjected to administrative arrest in the city of Kagan; as well as the “Muruvvat” residential institution for women with disabilities in Bukhara. During the monitoring visits, the “Ombudsman’s Boxes” installed in the institutions were checked, and appeals from convicts and detainees were received.
