On 27 February 2026, the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman), Feruza Eshmatova, conducted a regular reception of citizens. During the reception, more than 30 citizens submitted their appeals.
Regional representatives of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in Bukhara, Andijan, Syrdarya, Surkhandarya, Navoi, Namangan, and Tashkent regions studied citizens’ appeals by visiting the locations.

The Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) received a collective appeal from a group of residents of the Yangiyol mahalla of Rishtan district, Fergana region.
The Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) received a complaint regarding the failure to provide statutory monthly payments to two employees who had sustained occupational injuries.
At present, convicted prisoners and detainees are submitting appeals directly to the Ombudsman through monitoring visits conducted by the Ombudsman and regional representatives, as well as via special “Ombudsman boxes.” Appeals are also being received from their relatives and defense attorneys.
In the first 9 months of 2025, the Ombudsman received 15,385 appeals from citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, citizens and ombudspersons of foreign states, stateless persons, public organizations and other legal entities. Of these, 2,097 appeals were submitted by persons held in places where freedom of movement is restricted, as well as by their close relatives and defence lawyers (attorneys).
On 27 November 2025, during her working visit to Bukhara region, the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Oliy Majlis held a mobile citizen reception. During the reception, citizens mainly submitted appeals related to labour and social rights.
On 27 November 2025, the next citizens’ reception was held by the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman). During the reception, appeals concerning personal, social, economic and other rights were received.
The Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Oliy Majlis continues practical work to address citizens’ appeals.
