In particular, the monitoring visits covered Pre-Trial Detention Facility No. 7, Settlement Colony No. 37, as well as the Temporary Detention Facility of the Samarkand City Department of Internal Affairs.
During the visits, the living conditions of detainees, the organization of meals, and access to medical services were examined. In addition, attention was paid to the condition of detention cells, video surveillance systems, procedures for personal searches, including procedural actions carried out upon admission to the facilities, as well as the sanitary and hygienic condition of medical units.
As part of the monitoring process, appeals received through the “Ombudsman Boxes” were reviewed. Mobile receptions were also held at the institutions, during which complaints and requests from convicts and detainees were heard.
