Since 2024, the “Ombudsman Hour” lessons, conducted in schools across the country in cooperation between the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Oliy Majlis and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, have been attracting increasing interest from students. Because human rights and responsibilities are explained through examples drawn from everyday life, students are actively participating in these lessons.

During the most recent series of classes held by the Ombudsman’s regional representatives in the period from 16 to 25 November, nearly 650 students were covered.

The lessons were conducted at General Education Schools Nos. 19 and 22 in Guliston district and School No. 18 in Sardoba district of Syrdarya region; School No. 338 in Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent city; General Education School No. 28 in Yangiyul district of Tashkent region; General Education Schools Nos. 22 and 25 in Bukhara district of Bukhara region; General Education Schools Nos. 5 and 63 in Fergana district of Fergana region; and General Education Schools Nos. 8 and 16 in the city of Navoi, Navoi region.

Held in an open dialogue format, the lessons explained to upper-grade students, through interactive exercises and real-life examples, how to protect themselves in the digital world, the phenomenon of cyberbullying, the essence of human rights and freedoms, as well as personal, political, economic, social and environmental rights and responsibilities. In addition, using video clips, young people were given interactive information on the idea that it is impossible to ensure human rights and interests without protecting nature.
