Initially, appeals received from the region were analyzed, and based on the most pressing issues, relevant authorities were invited to participate in the event.
The open dialogue under the project was held on June 5, 2025, at the premises of Children’s Music and Art School No. 19 in Kuva district of Fergana region.
According to available data, the Ombudsman received 1,140 appeals from residents of the region in 2024, and 176 appeals in the first quarter of 2025 alone. Appeals from Kuva district particularly addressed issues such as the protection of labor rights, support for entrepreneurship, housing, alimony, fraud, and the rights of women and children.
Accordingly, the event, which involved nearly 200 residents of the “Qayirma,” “Sufi,” “Rasta,” “Takhtako‘prik,” and “Tinchlik” neighborhoods, focused on these pressing matters.
During the open dialogue with citizens, the discussions covered quality social service delivery, housing subsidies, procedures for assigning pensions, social benefits and compensation payments, support mechanisms for vulnerable groups, and legislation on access to free legal assistance.
The interactive session featured a robust Q&A format, and comprehensive legal clarifications were provided in response to the public’s concerns.
As part of the “Ombudsman School” event, a mobile citizens’ reception was also held by the Ombudsman, Feruza Eshmatova.
