The training was attended by staff members of the Offices of the Ombudsmen of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, as well as representatives of non-governmental non-profit organisations.
The main objective of the event was to enhance the effectiveness of handling complaints concerning violations of citizens’ rights and freedoms, promote the application of modern approaches and methods in examining complaints, and strengthen the exchange of experience among national human rights institutions.
During the training, particular attention was paid to the receipt and analysis of complaints, the comprehensive examination of the circumstances described in submissions, the assessment and handling of evidence, the collection of relevant information, and the preparation of well-founded conclusions on complaints. Participants also discussed the importance of safeguarding human rights and legitimate interests throughout the complaint-handling process, maintaining effective communication with complainants, and identifying measures to address the problems uncovered.
The practical sessions and exchange of experience enabled participants to strengthen their professional skills in examining complaints, share views on challenges encountered in their day-to-day work, and learn from one another’s effective working practices.
The regional training is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the institutions of the Ombudsmen of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, improve the quality of complaint handling, and contribute to the enhancement of effective mechanisms for the protection of human rights.
At the conclusion of the training, participants were awarded certificates.
