The latest open dialogues were organised in Andijan, Fergana, Samarkand, Surkhandarya and Khorezm Regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Prior to the events, appeals received by the Ombudsman from these regions were analysed, issues of particular relevance to the population were identified, and representatives of the relevant responsible authorities were involved in the events.
Around 700 citizens were covered by the events. In particular, participants included residents of the “Amir Temur”, “Kadryat”, “Uzbekiston”, “Xamdustlik”, “Shodlik” and “Kamolot” mahallas in Asaka District; “Markaz”, “Dalvarzin”, “Madiyarchek”, “Oqtepa”, “Saroy”, “O‘rta” and “Suvyulduz” mahallas in Altynkul District; “Mullaboy”, “Beshariq”, “Yangi Hayot”, “Ortish”, “Qashqar”, “Qorako‘rpa” and “Navbahor” mahallas in Shahrihan District of Andijan Region; “Qapchug‘ay”, “Azimobod”, “Bozorboshi”, “G‘ayrat” and “Sharq” mahallas in Oltiariq District of Fergana Region; “Xalqabad”, “Quyoshli”, “Baxtli” and “Gujum terek” mahallas in Kegeyli District of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; “Sarbozor”, “Salovat”, “Iymon”, “Oltiug‘il”, “Turon”, “Istiqlol” and “Navruz” mahallas in Narpay District of Samarkand Region; “Bo‘ston”, “Navoiy”, “Navro‘z”, “Ibn Sino”, “Hayrobod”, “Bobotog‘”, “Bobur”, “Ko‘klam” and “Do‘stlik” mahallas in Shurchi District of Surkhandarya Region; the “Angariq” mahalla in Yangiaryk District of Khorezm Region, as well as residents of other mahallas.
During the open dialogues, participants were provided with legal explanations on the protection of women’s and children’s rights, prevention of harassment and violence, effective use of protection orders, social protection, labour migration, access to state-funded legal aid, prevention of cybercrime and financial fraud, health insurance, pension provision, and support for youth employment and entrepreneurship.
Following the events, the Ombudsman’s Regional Representatives also held mobile receptions.
The “Ombudsman School” project contributes to strengthening open dialogue between the population and state authorities, improving citizens’ legal knowledge, and ensuring a targeted approach to issues raised in appeals.
