The event was attended by the Ombudsman’s Regional Representative in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Muslim Qaziyat, the Committee for Family and Women, the National Agency for Social Protection, and the healthcare system.

During the dialogue, participants were informed about the administrative and criminal liability established for domestic (family) violence, the requirements of protection orders, as well as the rights and protection measures provided by law for women affected by harassment and violence. At the same time, issues related to resolving family conflicts without violence, mutual respect, responsibility, and a culture of communication were discussed.

The event was held in the format of an open dialogue, and individual interviews were conducted with some of the participants. Legal advice was provided regarding the appeals they raised.

An agreement was reached with partner organisations to continue holding similar events in other cities and districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
