The statement reported that the 20-year-old woman had suffered prolonged physical abuse, cruel treatment, and was forced to use narcotic substances. Her appeals to law enforcement authorities had reportedly been left unaddressed. In response to this case, the Ombudsman sent a request to the General Prosecutor's Office.

According to the information provided to the Ombudsman, the criminal case was transferred for investigation to the Investigative Department under the Tashkent Regional Police Department. During the investigation, missed procedural deadlines were reinstated, and the pre-trial investigation period was extended.

Based on the gathered evidence, an indictment was prepared in accordance with Article 381 of the Criminal Procedure Code and forwarded to the Tashkent Regional Prosecutor's Office for approval and subsequent submission to the court.

At present, the criminal case against the complainant's former husband, initiated under Part 6 of Article 126¹ of the Criminal Code, has been referred to the court for trial.
