The conference brought together representatives of state institutions, Parliament, international organizations, the diplomatic corps, the media sector and civil society, providing an important platform for discussing the development of a trusted information environment, strengthening the national media landscape and expanding international cooperation.

As part of the forum, a number of memoranda of understanding were signed to strengthen cooperation and implement joint initiatives. Among them was a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) and the National Media Association of Uzbekistan.

Under the Memorandum, the parties will cooperate in promoting and protecting human rights and freedoms, increasing public legal awareness, providing the public with reliable and impartial information, and raising media coverage of current human rights issues.

The parties also agreed to cooperate in developing proposals for improving legislation in the fields of information, media, digital technologies and human rights, as well as in preparing analytical materials, expert commentary and legal explanations.
