Currently, the delegation consisting of Emma Šimičič and Alex Hemmingsen is on a visit to Uzbekistan. As part of the visit, meetings are being held with various agencies to study the reforms being implemented in the field of migration, their impact on migration processes, as well as the specifics of legislation and practice related to the issuance of identity and civil documents.

During the meeting, information was provided on the Ombudsman’s activities aimed at ensuring the rights of citizens residing and working abroad. It was noted that cooperation has been established with ombudsmen of foreign countries, which has expanded the возможности for prompt consideration of citizens’ appeals and finding practical solutions.

The parties also exchanged views on ensuring human rights in migration processes, strengthening legal protection of citizens, and developing mutual information exchange in this area.
