Deputies of the regional and city Councils of People’s Deputies, as well as representatives of the regional Department for Family and Women’s Affairs, also took part in the event.
As part of the monitoring activities, the living conditions of persons held in the pre-trial detention facility, the organization and quality of food provision, access to medical care, the implementation of spiritual and educational activities, and compliance with sanitary and hygiene requirements were reviewed. In addition, appeals submitted through the “Ombudsman Box” were examined.
This was followed by a roundtable discussion with the participation of minors held at the facility. During the discussion, issues related to increasing their legal awareness, access to education, and the protection of their lawful interests were addressed.
In order to create appropriate conditions for educating detainees, the Karshi furniture manufacturing enterprise donated, on a sponsorship basis, 8 tables and 16 chairs (worth a total of 10 million soums).
Furthermore, sponsors donated 100 books to the library of the pre-trial detention facility.
At the conclusion of the event, an off-site reception was held for detainees. The issues raised by five detainees were reviewed in accordance with the established procedure.
