During the meeting, conversations were held with minors who are citizens of Uzbekistan and are temporarily residing at the center. In direct communication with each child, special attention was paid to their access to education, health, and psychological well-being. The children said that all conditions had been created for them to study and rest, and that the caregivers treat them with care and attention.
At present, five children who are citizens of Uzbekistan are being kept at this institution. Measures are being taken to return them soon to Uzbekistan to reunite with their families.
The meeting was attended by the Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the National Agency for Social Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that during her visit to Russia, the Ombudsman visited institutions where our compatriots working and studying in the country are present, facilities where foreign nationals are temporarily held that include Uzbek citizens, as well as institutions where minors live, and studied their legal and social situation. Open dialogues were held with our compatriots, and practical steps were taken to find concrete solutions to the issues they raised.
