During the “Bridge of Legal Assistance” event organized at the regional center for the rehabilitation and adaptation of women in Syrdarya, the appeals of 12 women victims were reviewed, and they were provided with legal and psychological assistance. The opportunities and benefits provided by the state to support women were also explained. The event involved representatives of the Syrdarya Regional Department for Family and Women Affairs, the Regional Department of the National Agency for Social Protection, the Regional Department for Poverty Reduction and Employment, the Department of Internal Affairs for Work with Women and Youth, as well as psychologists.

During the discussions, two women were offered job opportunities by the Regional Department for Poverty Reduction and Employment, and practical assistance was arranged by the Department for Family and Women Affairs to allocate land to one woman. An important aspect of this event was that, for the first time, two men who had committed domestic violence — aggressors — received individual psychological sessions. They took part in therapeutic training focused on responsibility, family relationships, and equality.

Additionally, within the platform, a practical dialogue was held with the heads of the Family and Women Affairs departments of Syrdarya’s districts. The discussions addressed existing cases of violence, current systemic issues, and ways to eliminate them. Such activities within the framework of the “Equality and Respect” platform continue to be implemented consistently throughout all regions of the republic.
