The open dialogue with students was attended by Deputy Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) B. Narimanov, Senator S. Abdikarimova, representatives of the Youth Parliament under the Senate, the Service for the Prevention of Offenses of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the university’s faculty members and students.
At the beginning of the event, the participants were provided with information on the implementation of the state youth policy and its legislative foundations in Uzbekistan, the involvement of the Youth Parliament in law-making and parliamentary oversight, as well as measures for the prevention of offenses among youth and the promotion of legal culture.
During the open dialogue, students’ appeals to the Ombudsman, their proposals and opinions were discussed. The students also had the opportunity to raise questions of concern and receive answers from representatives of the relevant institutions.
The event, which involved more than 400 young participants, placed special emphasis on ensuring the rights, freedoms and interests of students, as well as encouraging their active participation in the social and public life of the country.
