During the visit, monitoring was conducted on conditions such as the accommodation of convicts serving their sentences in the colony, the order of the dining hall and storage of food products, the provision of hygiene supplies, as well as the conditions in production workshops, wage payments, and the provision of hot meals to convicts engaged under contracts at facilities in the Jartepa village of Urgut district.

As part of the monitoring, on the initiative of the regional representative of the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in Samarkand region, an in-depth medical examination was conducted for male and female convicts serving their sentences in the colony.

During the examination, around ten specialists examined 226 convicts held in the colony-settlement and at associated facilities, conducted laboratory tests, and provided medical advice and recommendations according to their health conditions.

In addition, a reception was held for individuals wishing to apply to the Ombudsman’s regional representative.
