In addition, two citizens who had worked at “Jizzakh-Toshtepa Textile” LLC were dismissed but did not receive their final wages or severance payments.

A group of citizens whose labor rights were violated submitted appeals to the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman).

The appeals were taken under control and examined on site by the Ombudsman's regional representative in Jizzakh region. Upon establishing legal grounds, lawsuits were filed with the Jizzakh Interdistrict Court.

Based on the court decisions, wage payments and compensations were recovered in favor of the citizens.

During the court proceedings and in their written objections, the indebted employers cited financial difficulties as the reason for delays in payment. However, such arguments cannot justify the non-payment of wages and other entitlements to employees.
