Applicant’s Property Rights Restored – Ombudsman

Citizen A.G.’s land plot in Gulistan, originally allocated for residential construction and classified as "residential," was reclassified as "non-residential" by the cadastral authority during the registration process. As a result of this status change, a tax liability of over 9 million UZS was imposed on the citizen.

After three months of unsuccessful appeals to the relevant authorities, A.G. turned to the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) for assistance. The appeal was taken under control, and the Ombudsman’s regional representative in the Syrdarya region, Sh. Alimov, conducted an on-site investigation and collected the necessary documents.

Following the investigation, the Ombudsman submitted a recommendation to the Cadastre Agency under the State Tax Committee to restore the applicant's violated rights. As a result, the land plot was reclassified back to "residential," and the unjustified tax liability was annulled.
