The regional representative of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in Bukhara region, Abira Huseynova, conducted a monitoring visit to the regional dispensary for neuropsychiatric diseases.

In this dispensary, where more than 500 patients are treated, the conditions of accommodation, canteen, treatment departments and other conditions in the territory were inspected. Moreover, the conditions created for patients for recreation, walks and leisure time for doing their favorite manual work in their free time were familiarized.

During the monitoring visit it was found that all patients in this institution are included in the electronic register and a list is formed, doctors monitor the psychological condition of those undergoing treatment and patients with indications for treatment undergo appropriate recuperation.

The monitoring visit revealed that some patients living in the dispensary do not have identity documents and need practical assistance in assigning them disability benefits, as well as in establishing guardianship over patients left without guardians and custodians.

According to the results of the monitoring, the regional representative of the Ombudsman made appropriate recommendations to eliminate the identified shortcomings.
