The event was attended by representatives of the Department of Internal Affairs, the Department for Family and Women’s Affairs, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, and the regional office of the National Agency for Social Protection.

During the discussion, participants were informed about the administrative and criminal liability established for family (domestic) violence, the requirements of a protection order, as well as the rights and protective measures provided by law for women who have suffered harassment and violence.

In addition, the participants discussed the nonviolent resolution of family conflicts, mutual respect and responsibility, emotion management, and the development of a culture of healthy communication.

The event was aimed at targeted work in the prevention of violence: not only supporting victims, but also changing the behavior of persons who have committed violence or are prone to such conduct.
