Labour Rights Restored with the Assistance of the Ombudsman

Citizen N.N. appealed to the Ombudsman, stating that he had been employed as a cleaner at one of the general secondary schools in Almazar District and had sustained an injury to his health while performing his work duties. However, he complained that compensation for the damage suffered and his medical expenses had not been provided in accordance with the procedure established by law.

The appeal was examined under the Ombudsman's supervision, and a statement of claim was filed by the Ombudsman with the Shaykhantakhur Inter-District Civil Court in the interests of citizen N.N.

As a result, the court ruled that citizen N.N. should be awarded a lump-sum benefit for the injury sustained while performing his work duties, as well as compensation for non-pecuniary damage, amounting to more than UZS 22 million.

For information, with the assistance of the Ombudsman, more than UZS 2 billion 306 million in payments relating to citizens' wages and labour relations were recovered by the end of 2025.
