Cooperation in the Field of Human Rights Protection Discussed in Bishkek
Within the framework of the Consultative Council of National Human Rights Institutions of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Feruza Eshmatova, participated in a meeting between the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Marlen Mamataliyev, and representatives of the human rights institutions of the SCO member states.

During the meeting with the leadership of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic, the participants discussed the importance of cooperation between parliaments and Ombudsman institutions in ensuring human rights, improving national human rights protection mechanisms, and the prospects of the new dialogue platform established within the SCO framework.

During the working visit, a bilateral meeting was also held with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation, Yana Lantratova. The current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights were discussed.

The parties exchanged views on the consideration of citizens' appeals, expanding information exchange in the field of human rights, continuing cooperation at international platforms, and further strengthening dialogue between national human rights institutions.

The participants also discussed mechanisms for implementing the measures set out in the Roadmap signed between the Ombudspersons of Uzbekistan and Russia in 2025.
