Cooperation Between the Ombudsmen of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Continues to Strengthen
The Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman), Feruza Eshmatova, is on a working visit to Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, to participate in the Consultative Meeting of National Human Rights Institutions of the SCO Member States.

Within the framework of the visit, Feruza Eshmatova met with Dzhamila Dzhamanbaeva, Akyykatchy (Ombudsman) of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, it was noted that, in the context of the steadily developing relations of friendship, trust and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, it is important to further expand cooperation between national human rights institutions.

The parties exchanged views on strengthening prompt cooperation in considering citizens’ appeals, information exchange, and ensuring human rights.

Following the meeting, a Protocol on Amendments to the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2022 between the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) and the Akyykatchy (Ombudsman) of the Kyrgyz Republic was signed.

The Protocol is aimed at further strengthening cooperation in providing legal assistance to citizens staying in the territories of the two countries.

This document will serve to further strengthen practical cooperation between the Ombudsmen of the two states and elevate bilateral cooperation in protecting the rights and interests of citizens to a new level.
