The activities were implemented in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as the Fergana, Surkhandarya, Namangan, Bukhara, Khorezm, Samarkand, and Navoi regions. On-site, targeted legal consultations were provided to women through a mobile “Legal Assistance Bus,” and measures of social support were identified.
During the activities, individual work was conducted with nearly 80 women affected by violence. Based on their appeals, legal explanations were provided, and information was delivered on existing benefits and state support measures. In addition, professional psychologists conducted specialized sessions to help stabilize the psychological condition of the women and support their social reintegration.
The activities were carried out in cooperation with the National Agency for Social Protection, regional departments for family and women’s affairs, poverty reduction and employment bodies, internal affairs agencies, and other relevant institutions.
As a result of the measures taken:
-
preventive measures were defined with regard to two individuals who had committed acts of violence;
-
two women were provided with sewing machines on a grant basis to support self-employment;
-
three women were employed, and two others received job offers;
-
three women were issued medical referrals for treatment;
-
four women were referred to vocational guidance and training programs.
