On July 18, 2025, a monitoring visit was carried out at three contract facilities in the city of Tashkent, where inmates from Correctional Facility No. 43 in Buka district of Tashkent region are employed.

Staff members of the Ombudsman’s Secretariat assessed the living conditions, food provision, working environment, sanitary and hygiene facilities, rooms for short- and long-term family visits, as well as access to medical services at three LLCs where a total of 201 inmates are employed.

Group and individual interviews were also conducted with the inmates to hear their opinions and suggestions.

As a result of the monitoring, several shortcomings identified at certain enterprises were addressed on-site.
