Representatives of relevant government agencies were invited to the open dialogue to address issues of particular concern to local residents, identified through an analysis of appeals received by the Ombudsman from the district.
It was attended by the Deputy Ombudsman, the Ombudsman’s Regional Representative in Andijan Region, and staff members of the Ombudsman’s Office. Legal explanations were provided on pressing issues raised in citizens’ appeals.
During the dialogue, participants were also informed about procedures for obtaining medical care and services, the purpose of medical insurance and how to access its benefits, recent changes in legislation governing state pension provision, as well as new legal mechanisms for combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and strengthening liability for corruption-related offences.
Following the event, a reception for citizens was also held, during which residents’ appeals were heard and matters requiring further examination were taken under the Ombudsman’s supervision.
The “Ombudsman School” project contributes to raising public legal awareness, examining issues raised in citizens’ appeals directly at the local level, and addressing them through targeted measures in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
