In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 22 August 2026 “On Awarding the ‘35th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan’ Commemorative Badge,” the commemorative badge is awarded to compatriots who have made a worthy contribution to the development of the country, the promotion of human dignity, the improvement of the well-being of the people, and the reforms being implemented in various spheres of state and public life.

In accordance with the Decree, this high distinction was also conferred upon employees who have made a worthy contribution to ensuring human rights and freedoms, working with citizens’ appeals, strengthening legal safeguards, and enhancing the effectiveness of the Ombudsman institution. The fact that staff members of the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) are among those honoured has brought great joy to the Ombudsman’s team.
