During the session, the participants considered the draft resolutions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court entitled "On the Judicial Practice of Considering Cases Related to Declaring a Citizen to Have Limited Legal Capacity or to Be Legally Incapacitated," "On Certain Issues Concerning the Application of Interim Measures (Preliminary Protection) by Civil, Administrative and Economic Courts," and "On Introducing Amendments and Additions to Certain Resolutions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Plenum of the Higher Economic Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan."
The Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman), Feruza Eshmatova, delivered remarks on the draft resolution concerning the judicial practice of cases related to declaring a citizen to have limited legal capacity or to be legally incapacitated.
In her address, the Ombudsman emphasized that ensuring human dignity, rights and freedoms remains the central priority of the ongoing judicial and legal reforms in the country. In this regard, she noted the importance of establishing uniform judicial practice and ensuring consistent application of legal provisions in cases concerning legal capacity. It was stressed that the adoption of the draft resolution would contribute to the legality, soundness and fairness of court decisions, thereby strengthening the protection of human rights, freedoms and legitimate interests.
The Ombudsman regularly submits proposals on draft resolutions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court. Recommendations aimed at strengthening the protection of human rights and the legitimate interests of citizens were also presented with respect to this draft resolution.
It is noteworthy that, for the first time, the Plenum session was broadcast live through the Supreme Court's Interactive Services Portal.
