Open dialogues with staff were held at Pre-Trial Detention Facility No. 7 in Samarkand Region, Penal Colony No. 10 in Kashkadarya Region, Pre-Trial Detention Facility No. 2 in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Nukus Regional Branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Centre of Narcology, and Pre-Trial Detention Facility No. 9 in Surkhandarya Region. More than 450 staff members participated in these events.

During the event, participants were provided with information on national and international legal mechanisms for the prevention of torture, including the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Additional Measures to Improve the System for Identifying and Preventing Cases of Torture,” the principles of the “Miranda Rule,” and their reflection in the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In addition, the awareness of staff of Pre-Trial Detention Facility No. 2 in the Republic of Karakalpakstan regarding the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment was assessed through a test questionnaire.

At the conclusion of the event, the institution's staff received well-grounded answers and legal explanations from specialists to the questions of their interest.
