Ombudsman Meets with Members of the Polish Parliament
On 2 June 2026, the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman), Feruza Eshmatova, held a meeting with members of the Sejm, the lower house of the Parliament of Poland, Marek Rzonsa, Wanda Nowicka, and Alicja Lepkowska-Gołaś.

For reference, the Sejm, the lower house of the Polish Parliament, consists of 460 deputies and serves as the country’s principal legislative body. It includes approximately 30 standing committees operating in various fields.

During the discussion, the parties addressed issues related to ensuring human rights and freedoms, enhancing the legal awareness of the population, improving parliamentary oversight mechanisms, and strengthening the effective protection of human rights.

In turn, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee Marek Rzonsa provided information on the measures being undertaken by the Polish state to strengthen ties with Poles residing abroad, preserve and support their national and cultural values. He also emphasized that developing cooperation with Polish diaspora communities operating in various countries around the world is one of the important priorities of Poland’s state policy.

During the discussion, it was noted that representatives of the Polish ethnic community residing in Uzbekistan have successfully integrated into the country’s social life and are making a meaningful contribution to the development of society in various fields. At the same time, the opportunities created in our country for representatives of different nationalities and ethnic groups, as well as the atmosphere of interethnic harmony and religious tolerance, were highly appreciated.

The meeting was held in a constructive and mutually beneficial spirit.
