Issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in the field of human rights protection were discussed
On April 22, 2026, the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (ombudsman) Feruza Eshmatova met with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Altai Territory of the Russian Federation, Anton Vasiliev.

During the meeting, issues of strengthening cooperation in the field of protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms were discussed. In particular, the parties exchanged views on matters related to confirming work experience and wages when assigning pensions, as well as other actual areas of mutual cooperation in ensuring human rights.

As noted, in 2025, the Ombudsman of Uzbekistan and Russia signed a “Roadmap” for 2025–2026. Within the framework of this document, it is provided to jointly study citizens’ appeals in both countries, review them, and take practical measures to resolve them.

The parties emphasized that this mechanism has important practical significance in protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens and expressed their readiness to further strengthen the exchange of information on cross-border social and legal issues.
