During the visit, the students received detailed information about the priority areas of the Ombudsman’s activities, the procedure for reviewing citizens’ appeals, monitoring visits to closed institutions where persons with restricted freedom of movement are held, as well as about the “National System for the Protection of Human Rights” and the “Right to Personal Liberty and Inviolability.”
In addition, a tour around the building was organized for the students. During the tour, they learned about the work processes of the departments responsible for handling appeals, establishing international cooperation, preventing cases of torture, as well as monitoring and analysis.
During the meeting, detailed information was also provided about the activities of the “Ombudsman Club” established under the Ombudsman. It was emphasized that members of this club have the opportunity, in their free time, to strengthen their theoretical knowledge at the Ombudsman’s Office, as well as to gain practical skills and experience in the field of human rights protection.
At the end of the event, the students received detailed answers to their questions and gained a broader understanding of the role and activities of this institution within the human rights protection system.
