The event, initiated by Uzbekistan, brought together members of the national delegation, representatives of international organizations, civil society, and human rights experts.
During the side event, the participants discussed the ongoing reforms and priority areas aimed at ensuring gender equality in Uzbekistan. Particular attention was paid to combating gender-based violence, implementing the “Women, Peace and Security” programme, defining gender issues as a priority area of state policy, and expanding opportunities for international cooperation within the frameworks of the UN “Beijing+30” and the OSCE “Gender Action Plan” initiatives.
This side event demonstrated Uzbekistan’s strong commitment to promoting gender equality, protecting the rights of women and girls, and encouraging their active participation in public life, reflecting the country’s openness to dialogue with the international community.
