Ombudsmen of Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan exchanged views on human rights protection
On October 28, 2024, in our capital, Feruza Eshmatova, the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman), met with the Chief Ombudsman of Turkey, Şeref Malkoç, and the Ombudsman of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva.

During the meeting, the parties discussed strengthening friendly relations and developing cooperation in the field of human rights. The Turkish and Azerbaijani Ombudsmen commended the recent electoral processes in Uzbekistan, noting their good organization and transparency. It was also highlighted that polling stations feature ramps for people with disabilities, special booths, and areas for staff, mothers, and children to provide assistance during voting. The electoral process is regularly covered, and electronic voting is being piloted as an experiment.

The dialogue underscored that the strengthening of friendly ties among the three countries is also evident in the field of human rights protection. The Ombudsmen expressed their willingness to continue working together in the future, emphasizing that this cooperation plays a vital role in safeguarding citizens' rights and interests.

The meeting took place in a friendly and cordial atmosphere.
