In addition, on August 7, 2024, the Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Recognition of Rights to Unauthorized Land Plots and Buildings and Structures Constructed on Them”. According to available data, there are currently more than 3,600,000 land plots that do not have legal documents. The adoption of this law is a clear expression of concern for citizens and their social support. It should be noted that our country has previously declared an “amnesty” for arbitrarily occupied land plots.
On this basis, on August 21, 2024, in order to raise the legal awareness of the population on these issues, an event “Ombudsman School” was held for the residents of mahallas “Katta Yilmas”, “Ettiqashqa”, “Yashik” of Norinsky district.
The event was also attended by representatives of the secretariat of the Norinsky District Council of People's Deputies, the Department of the State Cadastral Chamber in Namangan Oblast, the Department of the Off-budget Pension Fund in Namangan Oblast, the District Justice Department, the Department of the Social Protection Agency in Namangan Oblast, the District Administration and the Namangan Oblast branch of the national movement “Yuksalish”.
At the event, full of discussions, residents were informed about the importance of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Recognition of Rights to Unauthorized Land Plots and Buildings and Structures Constructed on Them”, the basic conditions for recognizing rights, the procedure for collecting and processing the necessary documents, the establishment of public control in this direction and other important aspects of the law.
During the open dialog with citizens, special attention was paid to the issues raised in the appeals sent to the Ombudsman from the territory. In particular, detailed answers were given to the participants' questions about the assignment of pensions, social benefits, compensation payments and other payments, as well as social support of the population.
