Criminal cases against 21 people convicted in connection with the riots in Nukus are being considered on appeal

Members of the commission took part as observers in court hearings on criminal cases of first instance initiated against persons accused of committing mass riots, held on July 1-2, 2022 in Nukus

The Commission received petitions from some of the 22 individuals accused of committing mass riots regarding the participation of members of the Commission in the Court of Appeal.

On May 5, 2023, appeal proceedings against 21 persons began in the Supreme Courtroom. (One of the convicts, Polat Shamshetov, died)
