The Ombudsman received an appeal from the lawyer of convict K.B., who was serving his sentence in Penal Colony No. 13. The appeal stated that, despite the convict having compensated a significant portion of the material damage, having no disciplinary sanctions and having received an incentive, he had not been issued a positive conclusion confirming that he had embarked on the path of rehabilitation.

On 21 August, the Constitutional Court hosted a meeting with foreign participants of the international conference entitled “Human Rights in the Context of Digital Transformation: Modern Approaches”, organized at the initiative of the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman). The meeting brought together Ombudspersons, heads of national human rights institutions and representatives from 17 countries — Greece, Italy, Qatar, the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Russia, Slovakia, Thailand, Tajikistan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Oman and India.
