On 7 January 2026, information circulated on social media regarding the health condition of the convicted person G.M. and the treatment he allegedly received at Penal Colony No. 10 “Kasan” in the Kashkadarya region. This information was immediately taken under control by the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman). On the same day, the regional representative of the Ombudsman in the Kashkadarya region conducted an on-site review of the situation.
