On December 10, 2024, the Ombudsman, together with representatives of the public, conducted monitoring visits to several closed institutions in the Khorezm region that house persons with restricted freedom of movement. In particular, the monitoring included the detention center No. 11, where the conditions of detention, living arrangements, food provision, medical care, heating systems, and other aspects were examined. Meetings were held with minors and women, their appeals were reviewed, and discussions with close relatives of the accused were conducted.

Over 10 months of 2023, the Ombudsman and Public Groups conducted 452 monitoring visits to the places of detention. In the period of 10 months of 2022, this figure was 297.
In the first half of 2023, 348 monitoring visits were made by the Ombudsman and the Public groups under his authority to places where persons with limited freedom of movement are kept. In the first half of 2022, this figure was 156 times.
For 9 months of 2022, the Ombudsman and his public groups carried out 297 monitoring trips to places of detention of persons with limited freedom of movement. This indicator was 120 for 9 months of 2021, 68 for 9 months of 2020.
