Human Rights-Based Budgeting: International Seminar Launched in Tashkent

On 15 September 2025, an international seminar on the theme “Human Rights-Based Budgeting in Ensuring Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the Right to a Healthy Environment” commenced in Tashkent. The event was organized by the Regional Office for Central Asia of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) also took part in the seminar.

A key feature of the project is that its topics are selected based on the analysis of actual appeals submitted to the Ombudsman.
