A representative of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Karakalpakstan examined conditions at “Muruvvat” house
Together with the regional representative of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Human Rights Department of the Ministry of Justice, the conditions created for persons taken into care at the “Muruvvat” Chimbay men's home for persons with disabilities were examined.

The monitoring revealed a number of shortcomings when examining the state of food provision on the basis of the daily menu approved in the relevant order. In particular, although a second breakfast of bread, curd cheese, sour cream and sweet tea was planned for 10 November this year, but the guardians were only served biscuits and tea.

It was also found that the residents of the home were not provided with medical assistance in a timely manner. In particular, residential care worker J.A., assigned to provide massages, did not perform the procedures from 5 to 15 November this year, but the relevant registers were filled in.

It was also noted that the staff member responsible for carrying out the procedures to be carried out at intervals had not come to work, but the relevant registers indicated that medication had been used for the persons taken into care.

When the staff of the home checked the distribution of clothes, shoes, other items and soft goods to the wards according to the approved norms, it was discovered that the head of the warehouse had made mistakes in their registration and in some cases the items had not been distributed to the wards.
