Ombudsman’s staff membets met with professors from George Washington University
On September 15 this year, representatives of the Secretariat of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) met with professor-researcher in the field of international relations Malcolm Russell-Einhorn and professor in the field of international relations practice, director of the master's program in international development studies at the Elliot School Sean R. Roberts.

During the meeting, the main areas of activity of the Ombudsman institution, systems of the legal and judicial sphere, as well as legislation and law enforcement practice were discussed.

George Washington University professors said that the main purpose of their visit was to exchange information and experience, as well as to study the practice of classifying citizens' appeals.

Representatives of the Ombudsman's Secretariat provided information on reforms to improve the activities of the Ombudsman carried out in the country in recent years, consideration of citizens' appeals by the Ombudsman, monitoring of penitentiary institutions within the framework of the National Preventive Mechanism and interaction with representatives of civil society.

It was also noted that in recent years the powers of the Ombudsman have been expanding and special attention is paid to the activities of its regional representatives, which contributes to the prompt study of citizens' appeals on the grand and the adoption of appropriate measures.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
